Redelease, a traditional distributor of specialty chemicals in Brazil, estimates a 10% increase in the volume of products sold this year.
This figure is in line with sensors of the composites market, a type of high performance plastic that accounts for approximately 70% of the company’s business. According to the Latin American Composite Material Association (ALMACO), there shall be an 11.5% increase in the period.
Roberto Iacovella, managing partner, says that Redelease comes from a very positive year, despite the difficulties that the distribution of chemicals experienced in 2013 – the currency fluctuations have pressured large part of the profit margins. “We reported an increase of nearly 20% in the volume traded,” he says.
According to him, this was possible thanks to a combination between the increase in capillarity – in July, Redelease inaugurated a subsidiary in São José do Rio Preto – portfolio expansion and strengthening of the e-commerce area.
The new unit complements the unit in Campinas, opened in 2012, and helped them to serve an important region more effectively. They launched their own products, such as Impergel PU paint and they started the distribution of transformer oil and acrylic resins for paint, which are new and very promising segments for Redelease. Finally, the online sales reported a great performance, with growth exceeding 25%,” says Iacovella.
Three-times Top of Mind
Last year, Redelease repeated the performance of 2011-2012 and won the Composites Industry Top of Mind Award in the category “Mold Release Agent”. And, for the second consecutive year, it won in the category “Distributor”. The company was also among the three finalists in the category “Composites Industry”.
